[News] BTS Jimin's world No. 1 song "Promise" celebrates its 4th anniversary, trends real-time

In celebration of the 4th anniversary of BTS Jimin's "Promise," celebratory hashtags swept social media and heated up the world.

At midnight on December 31st, fans commemorated the fourth anniversary of Jimin's first written and composed song "Promise." The congratulatory message "#약속4주년축하해" trended No. 1 in Korea and No. 5 worldwide on Twitter.

"PROMISE BY JIMIN" and "#4YearsWithPromise" trended No. 6 worldwide. Keywords such as "JIMIN JIMIN," "PARK JIMIN" and "WE LOVE YOU JIMIN" also trended.

To commemorate the fourth anniversary of "Promise," ALL FOR JIMIN Choeaedol Support Team donated 10.13 million won to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation for fourth consecutive year. Chilean fans also did good deeds through UNICEF.

Jimin's "Promise" made a surprise drop in 2018 without any notice and crashed SoundCloud, a music sharing platform that was somewhat unfamiliar to general (fan) listeners. It caused a sensation and broke Drake's 4.9 million 24-hour streaming record for "Duppy Freestyle" with a whopping 8.5 million streams.

US business magazine Forbes reported the news, saying, "The feat enabled 'Promise' to hold the No. 1 spot on both SoundCloud's Top 50 and New & Hot charts for 48 hours," showcasing the power of "Promise."

The Australian music magazine CULTR featured it with the title "Drake's SoundCloud record smashed by BTS Frontman, Kpop Star Jimin." Meanwhile, music industry media Hypebot and digital entertainment industry media DMW mentioned "Promise" as among the three representative songs of SoundCloud, together with NASA's historical audio library and Chance the Rapper's first mixtape.

Jimin's clear and elegant voice conveyed a message of comfort and empathy and drew a huge response as it deeply resonated and drenched the hearts of listeners around the world. Jimin also gave fans an unforgettable sentimental moment with the song's address including "firstjiminpresent."

Meanwhile, Jimin's "Promise," which has set a brilliant debut record that has not been broken since it surpassed 275.1 million streams in June 2021, continues to solidify its No. 1 position in the world as it achieved overd 327 million streams.
