The Importance of Streaming on Apple Music

Streaming on Apple Music is important for IFPI, RIAA, and global and country music charts, including Billboard and UK Official Charts.

According to Nielsen's Mid-Year 2020 Report:
1. Stream Equivalent Albums (SEAs)
- 1,250 streams from a premium platform = 1 album/unit sale
- 3,750 streams from an ad-supported platform = 1 album/unit sale
2. Stream Equivalent Songs (SES)
- 125 streams from a premium platform = 1 song unit
- 375 streams from an ad-supported platform = 1 song unit

Moreover, charting and official and user-made playlists on Apple Music provide exposure to a bigger audience outside of an artist's fanbase.

The Importance of Streaming from Apple Music's Official Playlists

Apple Music makes playlists that garner massive following. BTS' and the members' songs have been added to these playlists. It is important to stream the track from these Apple Music playlists to signal that it is being received well. If a track is among the best performers of a playlist, it will have a better chance of staying in the playlist.

The Importance of Rating and Favoriting a Song

Always rate and favorite Jimin's songs. These count as engagement that can influence recommendations and trending. Moreover, they can entice other users who are not yet fans to listen to the song.

The Importance of Sharing a Song

Sharing the song is a priority. Jimin himself has expressed his desire for their works to reach more people. How should we share his work?

1. Share the link to the track without using shortened links (i.e., bitly). You may refer to the links at the bottom of this page.
2. Post the track not only as part of a playlist but also as a track of its own.
3. Share and embed it on social media, messaging platforms, websites, and portals.
4. Share the link of the song in your advertisements and projects.

Sharing a song can influence its charting that helps promote the song, and gives it wider reach.

Introducing the song to more listeners impacts not only streaming numbers and charting. By actively promoting Jimin's song, you are helping increase the level of awareness, interest, engagement, and loyalty towards the song, Jimin's other works, and Jimin himself among fans, non-fans, and/or the general public. For example, sharing an amazing song can convert a non-fan into a casual fan, or a casual fan into a more passionate fan. Such exposure may also build or strengthen positive associations (thoughts, impressions, or beliefs of the consumer) towards Jimin and his artistry.

Tips and Reminders

1. Use Apple Music paid plans or free trial offers.
2. You can purchase a music video and stream it on Apple Music as well.
3. Favorite the track and leave a rating.
4. For streams to count, remember to delete the track or music video purchased on iTunes before streaming.
5. Stream the original, remixes, and instrumentals of the song. Their streams will count towards the Billboard chart.
6. Don't mute. You may use earphones instead.
7. Use multiple track-focused playlists especially during the first 3 months of the music release.
- We recommend keeping the playlist's length to less than 3 hours.
- Put a gap of 2 to 3 tracks in between duplicate (the same) tracks.
- Diversify your playlist. Include BTS' collaborations. You may add tracks by artists apart from BTS and Jimin but limit the length and quantity.
- Don't add long filler tracks by other artists.
8. Avoid bot-like behaviors. Stream like a human.
- Don't stream simultaneously on different devices or browsers using the same account.
- Search the track or playlist manually.
- Don't put duplicate tracks one after another. Put a gap of at least 2 to 3 tracks between duplicate tracks in your playlist.
- Avoid making a pattern in your playlist.
- Don't loop.
- Interact with your playlist (i.e., skip, add, or remove tracks).
- Switch playlists and platforms.
- Interact with your playlist at least once every couple of hours (i.e., search, pause, add, or remove tracks, change volume).
- Don't do the same activity (i.e., pause, replay) excessively especially in a short span of time.
- Don't do and undo then do the same activity in a short span of time.
9. Don't shuffle your track-focused playlist to keep the focus on the prioritized track.
10. Turn off “Autoplay.”
11. Don't auto-download.
12. You can embed a track. However, make sure that autoplay is turned off. Streams from tracks on autoplay will be filtered out.
13. Share links to the individual track and to good track-focused playlists. Avoid using shortened links when posting on social media.
14. If you can, change your internet connection once in a while (i.e., wifi to data, data to wifi, wifi to another wifi).
