UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Genie is the second-most used music platforms in South Korea and accounts for 20 percent of the country's total streamers. It specializes in the production and distribution of music, and providing online music streaming services.
The app is only accessible in South Korea. In order for the streams to be counted, passes are needed to play the full song. Without streaming passes, a user can only listen to the 1-minute previews.

Importance of Streaming on Genie

Streaming on Genie is important for Korean music charts, including the Gaon Digital Chart. Data from Genie is also accounted for in songs' digital scores for music show wins: SBS Inkigayo , KBS Music Bank, Mnet M Countdown, MBC Music Show Champion (Show! Music Core), and SBS MTV The Show. 

How to Sign Up

1. Go to Genie.
2. Tap "로그인/회원가입" (Log in / Register).
3. Sign in via your Kakao, Twitter, or Facebook account.
4. Tap "Accept All" and "Accept and Continue"
5. Accomplish information asked including "아이디" (ID)
6. Tap "중복학인" to check if the ID is available. If the blue text appears, it means the ID is available for you to use)

8. If prompted, tap on blue "확인" button

How to Stream

1. Search up the track or playlist.
2. Tap the play button.

Tips and Reminders

Streams of songs contribute to the music charts; streams of music videos contribute towards separate music video charts.
Only 1 stream per song per day counts for the Genie music charts.
