[News] BTS Jimin, the King of K-Pop 2022, a national treasure-level presence

BTS Jimin has made this year his own by ascending to the throne of K-pop.

In the global fan voting site Shining Awards' poll "The King of K-Pop 2022" which ended on November 30th, Jimin ranked No. 1 with a total of of 95,803 or 42.57 percent of the votes .


With this, Jimin bagged three crowns by winning Shining Awards' "The King of K-Pop 2022," Dabeme's "K-Pop Idol of the Year," and King Choice's "King of K-Pop" for the fourth consecutive year.


Jimin, who was a top student of Busan Arts High School, made his debut as a member of BTS in 2013 and took on the role of the main dancer, and captivated the public with his splendid performances, and even garnered more attention as a lead vocalist after the Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa series.

Moreover, Jimin possesses mysterious visuals that blend Eastern and Western charms. He has always expressed deep love for fans and share with them an exemplary relationship between an artist and fans through two-way communication. And with his good influence, such as, his donations to the underprivileged, he is considered not just as an artist but as a real-life role model.



An American journalist said, "He is more like a supernova that occurs once in a lifetime that shines brighter and warmer than anything else you may ever see again" and Korea's leading monthly cultural magazine CULTURA described him as a "character like a hero in a myth."


Jimin is one of the two Asians and the only member of the team to be included in the "30 Best Boy Band Members" selected by the British daily Guardian. He was also called the frontman of the K-pop boy band BTS, which continues its global reputation, earning him the title "BTS Frontman" in the Australian music magazine CULTR.


Jimin, who was even listed as the "King of Kpop" in the Urban Dictionary', has succeeded in becoming a leading artist of K-pop.


Jimin, who is loved by fans all over the world, toped Gallup's Idol Preference Survey for two consecutive years and consistently came first in the brand reputation ranking of boy group members for 45 months (as of November 2022)—showing an unprecedented case in idol history and gaining popularity in Korea, the origin of K-pop.
