BTS Jimin's fan support to celebrate his birthday drew attention as a representative for leading a new fandom culture.

Last month,  K-pop Radar, which provides K-pop fandom data and analytics, featured "birthday cafe" as one of the main keywords in a music critic discussion on "2022 K-pop Trending Keywords" and shared birthday cafes, photo booths and theme parks in Seongsu Yeonbang in celebration of Jimin's birthday in 2022.

In this video, they used Jimin’s birthday project as an example to explain how “progressed” it has become.

While the "birthday cafe" culture has already become widely established as a "K-pop cultural phenomenon," the broadcast said, "Birthday cafe events have been around but they get better and evolve. In other words, they become more special" and demonstrated how Jimin's birthday event is recognized as a different class, beyond a simple cafe event. 

The birthday event of Jimin, who is the first idol to occupy the entire Seongsu Yeonbang, created a theme park full of enjoyable things such as outdoor mini exhibitions, a greenhouse-type cafe "Heavenly House," and a pizzeria, and became hot among Korea's trending topics.

Among them, the photo booth, which was shared as a representative for "birthday cafe" in the "2022 K-Pop Trending Keywords" especially drew attention as it recreated Jimin's BE album concept photo and garnered explosive interest and long queues.

The Seongsu Yeonbang Birthday Project, which made headlines because of Jimin's huge popularity, the  public awareness for him, his strong fanbase and their innovative planning, was recognized for its contribution to revitalizing local businesses through visits from many fans, leading to an unusual extension of the event, making it even more popular.

In addition, Common Ground (near Konkuk University Station) which had its exterior walls fully wrapped also had so many visitors that the event was extended upon the request of businesses in the vicinity. The "Jimin Street" in 2020 also caused an explosive reaction with its various attractions that revitalized the Myeong-dong commercial district, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19.
