BTS Jimin is the No. 1 star to receive hugs on Hug Day. 

From November 18 to December 12, Seven Edu, an online math academy for elementary, middle and high school students, surveyed 1,445 people and BTS Jimin was chosen by 766 people (53.0%) as the No. 1 star to receive hugs.

Jimin was voted by 766 people or 53% of the total respondents in a survey conducted by Seven Edu, a reputed online math academy.

Park Bogum (232 people, 16.1%) came in second after Jimin, while Son Heungmin (180 people, 12.5%) and Son Seokgu (110 people, 7.6%) came in third and fourth, respectively.

Hug Day on December 14th is a day to warmly hug precious people—lovers, family members and friends—during the cold winter and express love for each other.

It is most likely that Hug Day originated from the hug campaign  on the 11th of every month since October 2006 by Free Hug Korea.

Hugging someone has great psychological effects such as providing comfort and relieving pain. According to experts, hugs do not only have psychological effects but also help one's physical health. The psychological effects of the positive feeling from hugging can result in lower blood pressure and stress due to the release of good hormones.

Hugging activates the release of oxytocin, called the love hormone, which helps calm the mind and relieve stress.

BTS Jimin, who was selected as the No. 1 star to receive hugs on Hug Day, entered as the top student of Busan Arts High School, which is famous for gathering talent. Jimin became a huge topic as it was the first time ever that the top student of the school came from the dance department.

Jimin, who is in charge of unmatched dance lines in BTS, has outstanding abilities as an all-round dancer with sensuous moves, delicate strength and control, and his own feeling/air.

As for the reason why BTS Jimin was selected as the No. 1 star who receives hugs on "Hug Day," Seven Edu & Mathematics Club CEO Cha Gilyoung said, "A reason is he seems like an innocent child."
