The New York Times recommends BTS' Jimin's self-produced song "Promise," saying, "You need to hear this new song."

BTS Jimin's solo song "Promise" has been selected as one of the '10 New Songs You Need to Hear This Week' by the influential American daily New York Times, drawing the attention of fans around the world.

Among the 10 selected songs, there are songs by famous artists such as Post Malone, 'Wow.', Micropixie, 'New Year's Day', Paul McCartney, 'Get Enough', and Jimin's 'Promise'.

The New York Times praised Jimin's song on the 4th (local time), saying, "'Promise' -- the new solo single from Jimin of the K-pop juggernaut BTS -- runs in the opposite direction of the familiar BT maximalism. Here he sounds tender and sweet, and the song never moves quicker than a saunter. In the BTS oeuvre, it's something of an afterthought, casual and unobtrusive. But that hardly matters: It broke the Soundcloud record for most plays in a song's first 24 hours."

According to Forbes, "Jimin's 'Promise' debuted at the top of All Genres and Worldwide charts and broke Drake's previous record by setting a record of 8.5 million SoundCloud streams in 24 hours."

The song also achieved 16.3 million streams in just 22 hours and 4 days after its release, breaking the record for the fastest-growing BTS song on SoundCloud. This proves once again that a good song can resonate with people around the world, regardless of nationality or language. It remains to be seen what other records Jimin will break in the future.

Meanwhile, BTS will attend the 33rd Golden Disc Awards 2019, held at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 5th and 6th.
