[News] BTS Jimin, the popular lead of the Korean Wave in Japan, "K-pop Frontman"

BTS Jimin shines as "K-pop's Frontman," the main character leading the Korean Wave in Japan.

Last month, KBS News' The World Now featured the hot popularity of Korean Wave quickly evolving and spreading to the center of downtown Japan in the segment "The Korean Wave among Japan's Gen MZ."

In the show, Japanese locals showed off Jimin's merch in interviews and said, "These are earrings  designed by Jimin. The hoodie I am wearing is also designed by BTS member (Jimin)," drawing interest.



Jimin participated in the production of his "With You Hoody" and "Red Caving Earring," which were released in January and drew huge interest not only from fans but also from celebrities, and sold out in 0.1 second. 

In the interview, locals showed their extraordinary fan sentiment by taking pictures in front of Jimin's mobile ads and proving they are fans with the BT21 character Chimmy plushie designed by Jimin.

Earlier on JTBC's Talk Pawon 25 O'Clock featuring K-culture, a Japanese, who was asked about what comes to mind when she thinks of Korea, replied "Jimin-chan!" and then confirmed "BTS" when asked if it was BTS Jimin.

In particular, according to Memedays, a research institute that studies social media trends among Gen Z, showed that Jimin was the sole Korean male chosen as the role model of Japanese girls ages 15 to 21, called the Gen Z.

Japanese idol juniors have also been choosing Jimin as their role model. Meanwhile, Jimin, who has a strong influence as a popular musician, has received unwavering affection from celebrities such as Japanese actress and entertainer Kiriko Isono, famous Japanese cartoonist Aya Kanno, and Japanese million-selling singer Ayaka Hirahara, who introduced him as one of the "world's singers with high vocal tone."

Jimin has been selected in Japan as ‘Generation Z Role Model’ as people chose him as their favorite.

Jimin is solidifying his status as Korea's leading Korean artist who leads the New Hallyu Wave in Japan with his popularity and public recognition, topping a series of surveys conducted by Japanese media as well as receiving love from many public figures and the media.
