
On December 31st (local time), BTS took to the stage in New York Times Square for ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020 (hereafter referred to as New Year's Rockin' Eve) and delivered a flawless live performance.
ABC set up a special outdoor stage in the middle of Times Square and, even before the broadcast, live-streamed BTS's rehearsal through their social media channels, not only to the millions of people gathered around the world, but also to heighten anticipation for the concert.
The host introduced BTS by saying, "In a moment, BTS, who have captivated the entire planet, will appear here. They will perform two songs that have gained worldwide popularity."
BTS began their performance on the Times Square steps, starting with "Make It Right." They received a huge cheer from fans for their newly prepared performance that fit the staircase stage layout. The members continued singing as they moved to the main stage past the fans gathered in Times Square. They greeted fans as they moved between stages and showed off a steady live performance.
On the main stage, they passionately performed "Boy With Luv feat. Halsey." They heated up the atmosphere of the venue with their flashy group dance and relaxed live performance. Fans continued to chant "BTS" and sang along with BTS's songs in Korean.
In particular, member Jimin showed off his wit by putting on a relaxed smile and performing even when his jacket flew up over his head, drawing enthusiastic cheers from the venue.
