Listen to Jimin's music!

Watch Jimin's performances!

"Make me your doll"

K-pop group BTS became dolls for people all over the world. Recently, BTS released their third full-length album, Love Yourself: Tear at the Billboard Music Awards. BTS made a historic performance on BBMAs and won their second Top Social Artist Award. They also topped Billboard 200 and ranked No. 10 on Billboard Hot 100.

The title track "Fake Love" is the third story from BTS's universe, with its up and down. BTS stated, "The fake love you have created ultimately leads to a breakup. Loving yourself truly comes first."

"Fake Love" group choreography is unique. Even Billboard praised that the unique performance topped DNA. Covering the face is the highlight of its choreography. Fans were mesmerized by the choreography of covering the eyes, ears and mouth. It is known that they were portraying boys whom disregards the truth which was inspired from world famous "Three Wise Monkeys."

The highlight here is Jimin's possessed dancing. He performs passionate choreographywith his hands covering his eyes while he pops his entire body. This is the scene that fans are most excited about. As is well known, Jimin is a master of popping. Popping is a type of street dance characterized by muscle-popping choreography.

The uniqueness of Jimin's popping

What makes Jimin's popping unique is his ability to infuse softness into the dance. The answer can be found in his profile. He entered Busan Arts High School's dance department at the top of his class (a first for the school) and majored in modern dance for two years. Consequently, Jimin's dancing is considered a harmonious blend of masculinity and femininity.

He shows bone-breaking moves and other times showcases his boneless flexibility. His dance in "Dope," "Fire," and "Not Today" are particularly notable for their use of head movement. He instantly bends back and adds speed and power to movements, making it more dynamic. This would not be possible without the precise control of his neck.

In "Fake Love," Jimin shows a choreography where he uses both arms to flutter like an animal. The best part is the latter part of the song, "Try to erase myself and make me your doll". It resembles a marionette that moves through strings attached in a puppet show.

His choreography is exquisite, with even his fingers "feeling the music" and melding dynamics. One watch and it is recognizable how he is the god of dance. He has genius talent but also has tenacity of efforts. BTS members have said that he practices so much that it can be worrisome for his health.

In their early days, BTS portrayed the storm and stress of adolescence, capturing the raw, rebellious spirit of a wild horse on the loose. Now, they focus on the dreams of a young man who has overcome his wandering ways. They are like refined, trained horses, having grown alongside ARMYs around the world. They have switched from school uniforms to suits, and their makeup has gotten heavier. They have focused on a philosophical, dark artistic approach. Jimin, who once seemed like a playful boy, now radiates the charms of a young man.

BTS, who sang "Make me your doll" in "Fake Love," have already become dolls for people around the world. Jimin is giving fans what they want to see, expressing it through dance. Jimin became ARMYs' marionette and it is interesting to see what unique dance he will show in next album.
