The American business magazine Forbes has highlighted on the solo song records of BTS member Jimin.

On January 3rd (local time), Forbes published an article titled, "BTS's Jimin's solo 'Promise' sees Soundcloud's biggest 24-hour debut ever." Forbes reported, "After checking with SoundCloud, we confirmed that Jimin's 'Promise' has broken SoundCloud's 24-hour record," adding, "'Promise' achieved 8.5 million streams in just one day."

In addition, Jimin's 'Promise' also maintained the No. 1 spot on SoundCloud's Top 50 Chart for 48 hours. This record is even more surprising considering that as of the 3rd, SoundCloud had over 15 million songs shared by musicians from all over the world.

It was confirmed that it is particularly popular in five countries around the world: Korea, United States, Japan, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

"Promise" is a new song released by Jimin on BTS's official blog and SoundCloud at midnight on December 31st of last year. As his first self-written and composed song in five years since his debut, it garnered significant attention from music fans. It set a new record of over one million SoundCloud streams in just 35 minutes, and its popularity was further evidenced by its ranking at No. 1 and No. 4 on Twitter Worldwide Trends.

The song was co-composed with producer Slow Rabbit. The lyrics were written by Jimin with some participation of RM. Slow Rabbit arranged the song, Lee Tae-wook played the guitar, Pdogg and Jung Woo-young recorded the track, and Pdogg mixed and mastered the song. Immediately following its release, the song received rave reviews for its high quality, making it hard to believe it was his first self-produced song. Some commented that the emotional acoustic guitar playing, combined with Jimin's signature sweet and sophisticated vocals and falsetto, harmoniously blended to create a truly captivating track.

This isn't the first time Jimin has showcased his talents as a solo musician. Starting with creating a killing point as a vocalist in many songs on BTS's albums, he received favorable reviews for two solo songs, "Lie" from BTS' second full-length album WINGS in 2016 and "Serendipity" from the mini-album LOVE YOURSELF 承 'Her' released in September of last year.

In particular, before releasing his first solo song as the main lyricist and composer, he participated in some of the production of songs such as "Lie" and gradually developed his capabilities as a singer-songwriter, finally releasing the meaningful result of "Promise." He also mentioned plans to work on a new self-produced song as a New Year's goal, saying, "I think it would be great to release one more song that contains my thoughts," adding to the interest and anticipation of fans.
