BTS member Jimin sent greetings to fans for the Lunar New Year.

On January 29, Jimin opened up through BTS’ fan communication platform Weverse by saying, “Since I enlisted in December the year before last year, two years have already passed. I have been serving in the military for about a year and two months and... the time here really goes differently.  It's not all easy, but there are things that I have felt and learned, so I'm looking forward to the day when I can have fun conversations with you about the things that happened so far.”

He said, "My daily life hasn't changed much. After all, it's the military, I go to training, do my work, exercise, and before I know it, a day has passed by and I'm heading to sleep. If there's one thing different, it's the conversations Jungkook and I have before going to bed. They have changed a lot this new year. Since the day of meeting ARMY is getting closer, we talk a lot about what we should prepare before we meet again, how we would be showing ourselves, and what kind of lives we would be living in the future." He also honestly shared his concerns about his upcoming activities, which will resume in about five months. Jimin said, "To be honest, I'm scared. It's been quite a while since we all performed together while dedicating all our time to music and performances, so I'm a little scared, but for all of you who have waited all this time, my determination to show you the best performances has not changed." He added, "I'll prepare really hard.. I'll work hard, I'll really come back looking great." Finally, Jimin added, "Our ARMYs whom I miss and I am so grateful for, I hope you stay healthy and you spend your days filled with happiness until the day we meet again."

Jimin has been serving faithfully in the 5th Infantry Division since enlisting in the army on December 12, 2023. He is scheduled to be discharged on June 11.

Jimin donated 100 million won to the soldiers of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. According to the Chungnam Community Chest on November 22 last year, Jimin donated 100 million won to the "Army Honorary Comrade Love Fund" jointly run by the Chungnam Community Chest of Korea and the army. The donation will be used to support the living expenses, medical expenses, and scholarships of soldiers, who have dedicated themselves to the country, and their families.

Thus, Jimin's total (known) donations during his military service have exceeded 200 million won. In April last year, he donated 100 million won through the Gyeongnam Future Education Foundation. This is an organization funded by the Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education. Jimin's donation was used to support the tuition and social welfare funds for students from low-income families in the province.

Jimin is a leading/representative charity angel in the music industry. Since his debut as a member of BTS in 2013, he has continuously carried out good deeds in various fields for 11 years and has spread good influence. He has become a role model/inspiration by making continuous donations to improve the welfare and educational environment for underprivileged children and youth. The amount of his individual official donations had amounted to 1 billion won. The total amount of individual donations made by BTS members is approximately over 1 billion won.

(Note: These donations are only the ones known through the media or recipients as Jimin preferred to make them quietly.)

In 2018, Jimin donated for the purchase of school uniforms of his juniors at his alma mater, Busan Hoedong Elementary School. In 2019, he then donated 100 million won to the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education to support students from low-income families in 16 schools in Busan including Busan Arts High School and Geumsa Elementary School. In February 2020, he replaced 1,200 desks for all students at his alma mater, Busan Arts High School.

He then donated 100 million won to the Jeonnam Future Education Foundation in August 2020, and in July 2021, he donated 100 million won to the non-profit international volunteer organization Rotary International for polio patients around the world.
