Soribada prides itself as the first Korean peer-to-peer file-sharing service and the music platform that covers 90% of all tracks released in the country. 

Its application requires users to have a Korean phone number to create an account.

Streaming on Soribada is important for Korean music charts, including the Gaon Digital Chart. Data from Melon is also accounted for in songs' scores for awards in music shows such as SBS Inkigayo, Show! Music Core, KBS Music Bank, Show Champion, and yearend music festival awards, such as the Melon Music Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Golden Disc Awards.

These award shows contribute to the recognition of an artist and their works among the general public.
